Dr. Alicia Hartung is a Pittsburgh native who’s lived on the same street her whole life. As a little girl, her favorite toy was Colorforms, because every time she sat down with them, she could create new designs and stories.
Dr. Hartung graduated form Vincentian High School, Washington & Jefferson College, and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Osteopathic Internship at St. Francis Medical Center and her Pediatric Residence Program at Mercy Hospital. There she met Drs. Pai, Wolynn, and Wolf, then joined Kids Plus after graduating from her residency in 2001.
Dr. Hartung is board-certified in Pediatrics, and she’s been an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant since 2001.
Being a doctor is a huge part of her life, but her husband and two daughters are always her top priority. She works hard to keep a balance between her work and her family, so she knows what it’s like for the parents and families she sees at Kids Plus who are trying to juggle their busy lives and give everyone their full attention.
Dr. Hartung’s favorite hobby is reading anything that doesn’t have to do with medicine, especially something she can just sit down and not have to think about. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her family, which may mean a trip to the park or the zoo or just a walk her neighborhood. Her favorite time of year is September, when she and her family take a trip to the Outer Banks to spend seven days with family and friends and not have to work or worry about anything.
Her favorite place to “play” in Pittsburgh is North Park, because there’s something there for everyone.
