Dr. Amy Maddalena graduated from Grove City College with a degree in biology and went on to Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her osteopathic internship and pediatrics residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Maddalena is a board-certified pediatrician and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. She’s been practicing with Kids Plus since 2006, and is a member of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Maddalena enjoys teaching a monthly class for expectant parents at the Pleasant Hills office. In this group setting, she enjoys telling parents about our practice and what makes it unique, giving them tips on how to care for a newborn, and answering their questions.
Dr. Maddalena enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, playing the piano, and being outdoors with her family. She is active in her church community, and she enjoys spending time with her husband and four boys.
When she was young, Dr. Maddalena’s favorite toy was one she always wanted but never actually owned: “Baby Alive,” a doll you could feed, and that would cry and even pee! Little did she know that she would have plenty of experience with that as an adult, both at work and at home as an adult.
Dr. Maddalena’s favorite place to “play” in Pittsburgh is anywhere outside, in our great variety of beautiful parks. She especially enjoys the water steps on the North Side (with their great view of downtown!) and Schenley Park in all seasons.
