Danielle Anthony grew up in Peters Township in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, the middle child between two wonderful sisters. Besides her great maternal grandfather, who was a doctor in Italy, she’s the only other member of her family to go into the medical field.
Danielle always knew she wanted to work with children — her first jobs were babysitting and lifeguarding — and then, after doing some shadowing in high school, decided she wanted to be a Physician Assistant.
Danielle earned a Bachelor’s in Biology from John Carroll University in Cleveland, where she did volunteer work for Ronald McDonald House, Relay for Life, and Cleveland Clinic. She earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Lock Haven University, and is now a member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants (PSPA).
She and her husband met thanks to their college roommates, who introduced them because they were both huge Steelers fans. They’ve been married for five years, and have a young daughter named Kenzie. They live in Cranberry Township.
Her favorite place to “play” in Pittsburgh is on the North Shore; she loves to tailgate and go to Steelers and Pirates games.
Danielle’s hobbies include skiing, golfing, traveling, and spending time with her family. Every winter they take ski trips to Hidden Valley or Seven Springs. Her favorite places to travel include St. Thomas, St. John, Aruba, Italy, and Disney World.
Danielle’s favorite childhood toy was the Dumbo stuffed animal she got from Disney World when she was three; it never left her side as a child — unless her mom snuck it into the washing machine! She slept with it every night, and of course took it to her doctor’s visits. She plans on sharing it with her daughter one day.
