Jessica Sivetz grew up in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, where she and her husband now raise 3 amazing children. A Kids Plus mom herself, she fell in love with the practice and the many “extras” it offers. It didn’t take long to realize she wanted to become a part of the team!
Jessi earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Bachelor of Art in Studio Arts at the University of Pittsburgh, originally planning to pursue a career in medical illustration. She soon realized she loved taking care of people and working with patients, so she returned to Pitt to complete an accelerated BSN program.
Jessi worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Magee-Womens Hospital for 8 years before completing her Master of Science in Nursing through Maryville University and earning her Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification. She’s a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) and a certified lactation counselor (planning to become an IBCLC)!
Jessi loves ANYTHING creative or artistic and still tries to draw or paint when possible. Although, with 3 kids, her hobbies lately mostly include sneaking vegetables into as many meals as possible, navigating teen angst, convincing children that sleep is actually wonderful thing, and cleaning up messes. (SO many messes…) She’s also become a podcast junkie; her latest binges include “Hidden Brain,” “Radio Lab,” “This is Actually Happening,” and just about anything true-crime related.
Her favorite toy growing up was Play-Doh. She definitely followed the “can’t mix the colors” rule, but doesn’t seem to have passed that habit on to her kids.
Some of Jessi’s favorite places to “play” in Pittsburgh include the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Carnegie Science Center, and the Children’s Museum. She and her two youngest children frequent many playgrounds, especially Wiltshire Park and the black and yellow playground in South Park. They also love hanging out at the Bethel Park Public Library and the Peters Township Public Library. (Really, any library…)
