Dr. Jennifer Vu grew up in Barrington, Illinois, where she developed a big love of deep-dish pizza (the best type!) and the Chicago Cubs.
Dr. Vu completed both her undergraduate and her medical school degrees through the BA/MD program at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. After that, she spread her wings and tried Texas living for residency at Baylor College of Medicine – San Antonio.
During her residency, she developed a huge passion for social media advocacy and education — and breakfast tacos!
After completing residency and serving as Chief Resident, she decided to join her boyfriend (who she met in college) here in Pittsburgh, where he currently works as an orthopedic surgery resident.
In her free time, Dr. Vu enjoys visiting new coffee shops and restaurants. She’s an avid Yelp-er, and was a member of Yelp Elite for 5 years. She also enjoys traveling, discussing pop culture (mainly Taylor Swift), shopping at Costco, and spending time with her cat, Django. She’s recently discovered a passion for running, and hopes to run the Pittsburgh Half-Marathon in 2024.
When she’s not at work, you can find her at her favorite coffee or tea shops (Big Dog Coffee, Dobra Tea), Page’s, or running/riding her bike on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail.
Dr. Vu’s favorite childhood toys were her American Girl dolls and her Polly Pockets. She also loved playing Just Dance on her Wii, and she still remembers the Rasputin dance to this day!
